FORG is an incorporated association whose aim is to assist The Orange Regional Gallery in the promotion and fostering of art appreciation within the community of Orange, NSW and its district.
FORG is administered by a volunteer committee and has approximately 300 members. An AGM is held in August or September each year and members can nominate for a position on the organising committee

What does FORG do?
FORG plays an important part in providing community support for the Orange Regional Gallery, in the ways outlined below.
Fund raising to purchase art works for the gallery
Over the past 30 years, FORG have assisted with the purchase of over 30 significant artworks by nationally celebrated artists as well as significant works by artists from the Orange region for the Gallery’s permanent collection. Supporting the Gallery through fundraising initiatives is a high priority for FORG.
Organising events – both social and educational
Throughout the year FORG holds special events which focus on art and convivial conversation accompanied by local food and wine. FORG aims to promote new ideas in art, design and architecture through talks, films and trips to other galleries. These events include:
- The Alan Sisley Oration is held annually and brings prominent people in the arts to Orange! In 2017 John Bell of Bell Shakespeare company was the guest speaker. Previous years have included Edmund Capon and Jane Rutter.
- The FORG Christmas Party
Supports the gallery at exhibition openings by providing catering services and attendees!
Forg has a presence at every exhibition opening. Openings are a great opportunity to meet friends and find new ones, so come along – JOIN US – and celebrate art!
