Small Abstracts is curated by accomplished abstract painter David Serisier, from his and Gillian’s collection that has been built up over thirty years. Local residents of the area, David and Gillian were inspired by the passion of friends for collecting and the chance meeting with the now famous American collectors Herb and Dorothy Vogel. The exhibition presents a selection of bold and colorful abstract paintings, objects and works on paper that have interesting intersections in their investigation of colour, surface and form.
A range of emerging and established, Australian and international, the artists include Susan Andrews, Daniel Argyle, Cathy Blanchflower, Andrew Christofides, Roger Crawford, Lynne Eastaway, Billy Gruner, Daniel Hollier, Sarah Keighery, Golda Lewis, Ruark Lewis, Stephen Little, Dorothy Napangardi, Patrick Pound, Nike Savvas, Camille Serisier, David Serisier, Howard Taylor, John Walker, Karl Wiebke and Coen Young.
